MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (March 8th, 2010)-- Dustin Dougan took advantage of Steve Wilbur's late-race misfortunes to drive his No. 45 car to a first-place finish in the 30-lap A-feature Monday at Williams Grove Speedway.
Dougan made the race-winning pass on the final go-around, when Wilbur entered turn one too hot and bounced off the inside barrier, sending him up the track and allowing Dougan the opportunity to assume the point. Dougan was able to fend off Jason Brown to take the win in the second preseason race for the Boz Sprint Car League.
Dougan used the bottom of turns one and two to drive to the early lead after starting on the pole position. The lead would be short lived though, as fourth-starting Wilbur used the top of turns three and four to take the point coming to the line on the first lap.
Dougan used a slide job to move into first for a brief period on the second lap, but Wilbur was too strong on the high side, and would retain the lead until the late stages of the race.
Wilbur looked to be headed to victory lane until he dove low to clear the lapped car of Jimmy Patterson after taking the white flag, catching the inside retaining wall and spinning up the track. Wilbur suffered serious damage that sidelined his Auto Locator-sponsored No. 59, and would be scored in the 13th position.
Brown took the runners-up position after starting eighth in the 24-car feature, and Jamie Damgar finished third after starting seventh. Ninth-starting Brian Bowling took fourth place, and John LoPresto charged from the 12th starting position to round out the top five.
With the win, Dougan sits atop the preseason point standings for the Boz Sprint Car League. Mike Chasteen, Jr., winner of the series opener a week ago at Australia's Perth Motorplex, sits in second place 16 points behind Dougan. Mike McKinney, awarded with hard charger honors at Williams Grove after moving from 21st to ninth, sits in third, 30 points off Dougan's total.
After an incredible turnout of 44 cars tonite, the Boz Sprint Car Series will head a short distance north next week to Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway. A stout field of cars is expected, with racing beginning at 9:30 P.M. ET Monday. For more information, including full results, visit the Boz Racing Forums at www.bozracing.com.

March 1st, 2010

Monday night marked the first official League Race that Boz Racing has had in a long time, and it showed.  lol  With the pits full of 38 410 sprinters, the overflow crowd at the Perth Motorplex knew that they were gonna be in for a treat.  After 4 heat races, 2 B Mains, and the 30 lap A Main, it was obvious to everyone in attendance that Mike Chasteen, Jr. was the fastest car in Australia this night.  Mike led all 30 laps and slowly pulled away from the field to score the victory by just under 2.5 seconds.  Dustin Dougan passed Jason Ray for the runner up spot on the last lap; however Jason was able to hold on for a strong 3rd place finish.   Aaron Ott, and 7th place starter Bill Malicoat rounded out the top 5.

The Boz Racing Sprint Series will continue its Preseason tour when they head to the famed 1/2 mile in Mechanicsburg, PA next Monday night.  It will be the first of 4 visits to the Williams Grove Speedway in the 2010 season and should be another great trunout.  Hope to see you there.
